Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the shelf life of the bonbons 10 days after the you have received the delivery?

We do not use preservatives and work with fresh cream. This means that the shelf life of our chocolates can be guaranteed up to 10 days after the date of receipt. In reality, this is usually longer, but this depends on the storage conditions, the temperature inside, the humidity, etc. Our storage advice is always to store the chocolates in an odorless room at a temperature that ideally does not exceed 20 degrees. If your delivery faces some unexpected delays, our quality promise always applies.

I would like to have a different selection of bonbons in the box, is that possible?

Unfortunately that is not possible. The selections as displayed in the Online-store are what we are able to deliver at this moment. In case you want to make a selection from the complete collection or want to compose your own box of chocolate, then we happily welcome you one of our two stores in Amsterdam.

We will do our best to meet any special requests and respond in a timely manner.

How do you ship chocolates with high temperatures?

Chocolate is heavily sought after even in the Summer when the temperature is at it’s highest. Regardless of the weather, Puccini Bomboni considers the condition of your order to be of special importance. We wrap your chocolates in a special isothermal packaging, which is specially designed to keep the package at a constant 20°C for the duration of its transport, or for over 36 hours. This effectively protects your delicate chocolates from receiving damage from impacts, as well as, overheating.

This enables us to ship throughout Europe and other regions throughout the world, even in Summer. Thus, quality and taste are always guaranteed.

What is the cost of the Isothermal packaging service?

The additional packaging is entirely free. We observe the weather conditions prior to every delivery, and automatically add the appropriate packaging to the order if necessary.

What is the best method for storing chocolate in hot weather?

When the temperature begins to climb above 25°C, your chocolates are at risk of melting or becoming damaged by the heat. In these situations we recommend that you keep your chocolates away from the sun and stored at a low and dark spot in your house, for instance, in the basement or a low cupboard.

However, when the temperatures reach heights of 30°C and above, more drastic measures must be taken to protect your chocolates. We recommend that you seal the chocolate box tightly and place it in the fridge. Once placed in the fridge, it is essential that the chocolates are taken out of the fridge and left to rest. with the lid tightly sealed, for at least 2 hours before enjoying them. This process is critical as the chocolates can discolor due to condensation if the package is not properly sealed.
